WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM OUR SUNDAY GATHERING
The Entire Service Forms a Biblical Story
Scripture gives us the theological pattern of worship rather than one rigid, universally prescribed order of service. There are different worship patterns throughout Scripture. However, there is a remarkably consistent covenantal rhythm:
God calls → God's people assemble → God reveals Himself → God's people respond → God's Word is proclaimed → God's people respond → covenant fellowship occurs → God's people are blessed and sent.
This order captures that beautifully. And there is an even deeper theological movement underneath it:
PRESENCE → HOLINESS → GRACE → WORD → COVENANT → MISSION
Or, even more simply:
GOD CALLS US. WE RESPOND TO GOD. GOD SPEAKS TO US. WE RESPOND TO HIS WORD. GOD COMMUNES WITH US. GOD SENDS US.
That gives the Gate a theology of worship, rather than merely an order of worship. This is where we need to be. It is a regular liturgy that is distinctly biblical, covenantal, Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and missional without becoming ritualistic. The goal is not to make worship feel more "formal." The goal is to teach the congregation what is actually happening when the church gathers before the living God.
